We Build Theater Experience and Opportunity

GHS students have the opportunity to take a variety of theater courses and audition for many theater productions based on their interests both on or off the stage. GIS and GMS students have the opportunity to audition for the spring musical each year. Our philosophy is to build the whole theater student as a collaborative actor/singer/dancer/stage and technical production crew through a multitude of opportunities.

Exploring    creative     depths

A   lasting   journey

Why is exploring our creative depths in theater so important? The performing arts encourages students to explore their emotions, expand their imagination and help to develop their own, unique voices. Each discipline of drama, music, dance, and stage production engage a student's brain, body and emotions in different ways to encourage their confidence and find joy in self-expression.
It is our hope that the theater education your student receives at our various district buildings not only teach about the practice of theater arts— but how to stage, direct, build, act, sing, and dance to apply to each musical theater and/or legitimate play. These practices are also to encourage students to develop a life-long love for the theater arts to continue to pursue them in a collegiate or professional manner. Along with mastering skills that will help them prepare the smallest to largest of productions or presentations for schools or communities with a specific goal of changing knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, and develop a strong sense of self using advanced speaking skills to do so.
